The list of major global companies who decided to embrace blockchain-based technologies such as NFTs and the metaverse keeps growing, which means that blockchain adoption is progressing at an astonishing rate. This week, Tommy Hilfiger has become another popular fashion brand to announce their NFT-related plans. But why exactly are fashion companies so enthusiastic about NFTs, and are NFTs truly the future of fashion?

The popular American fashion company Tommy Hilfiger has announced that it will partner with Decentraland to showcase an original collection of NFTs in the metaverse. The collaboration will be a part of a massive virtual event called Decentraland Metaverse Fashion Week that will last from March 24th to March 27th, 2022.

According to the brand’s representatives, the partnership won’t end at that, as Tommy Hilfiger has serious plans related to NFTs, blockchain and metaverse. In the near future, the fashion company aims to launch their own metaverse store, where people will be able to buy digital NFT clothes and accessories.

Tommy Hilfiger is just one of many fashion brands obsessed with NFTs and metaverse. Why exactly are fashion companies so enthusiastic about blockchain, and why is it so significant for the crypto ecosystem as a whole?

The Decentraland Metaverse Fashion Week will feature dozens of massively popular companies. Aside from Tommy Hilfiger, the list of brands showcasing their NFTs collections in the virtual world includes luxury brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Cavalli and Jacob & Co.

However, the Decentraland Metaverse Fashion Week is not the first time when fashion and clothing companies are embracing NFTs. Popular brands like Nike, Adidas, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Ray Ban, Asics and Gucci have already successfully experimented with Non-Fungible Tokens in the past.

But while the series of virtual fashion shows hosted by Decentraland is not really a pioneering collaboration between fashion brands and NFT platforms, it is still massively significant. It is by far the largest partnership event between a blockchain-based metaverse project and mainstream, globally recognized brands, and it marks a huge milestone in global blockchain adoption.

Of course, the list of companies interested in technologies such as NFTs and metaverse doesn’t include just fashion brands — companies like McDonald’s, Walmart and Dominoes are also keeping up with the times and working on NFT and metaverse projects.

However, the fashion world seems specifically suited for embracing blockchain and NFTs, since fashion brands are always very eager to embrace innovation. As crypto becomes more and more popular, it’s extremely likely that supporting blockchain technology will become widespread among them.

The first ever NFT fashion week hosted in the metaverse is certainly a massively important event, as it shows how rapidly the global blockchain adoption is progressing. Because of that, projects like Grand Time are also growing at an immense rate, as they provide crypto and NFT beginners with an easily accessible entry point to the blockchain ecosystem.
